Our partner ASRock Industrial, in collaboration with Collaborative Systems Integration (CSI), has successfully validated a standards-based Open Process Automation Standard (O-PAS™) system management architecture using ASRock Industrial’s iEP-7020E Edge Computer and AiSMA (ASRock Industrial System Management Architecture). Both companies, members of the Open Process Automation Forum (OPAF) and the Coalition of Open Process Automation (COPA), share a commitment to advancing open, interoperable automation infrastructures.
At the core of this validation is the integration of the iEP-7020E—an advanced industrial edge platform powered by Intel® Core™ processors and designed for high-performance data processing at the edge—with AiSMA, a Redfish®-based system management framework offering secure lifecycle management across distributed control environments. Together, the solution provides automated hardware discovery, firmware verification, over-the-air updates, and real-time monitoring for multi-vendor industrial networks.
The validation confirms compliance with O-PAS™ Part 5 Systems Management guidelines and proves the scalability of Redfish®-based orchestration in real-world scenarios. By automating provisioning and configuration tasks, the joint solution reduces manual effort, shortens deployment times, and improves transparency throughout system lifecycles. This milestone represents a major step toward fully open, modular, software-defined industrial control systems.
“Open automation demands standardized system management to ensure seamless interoperability,” said Kenny Chang, COO of ASRock Industrial. “Our collaboration with CSI demonstrates how AiSMA and the iEP-7020E enable scalable, secure solutions aligned with O-PAS™ principles.”
John Vicente, CTO of CSI, added, “Validating interoperable system management architectures accelerates adoption of open process automation. This work exemplifies how O-PAS™-compliant products drive flexibility and innovation across industrial sectors.”
